Taiwanese Youth as Global Citizens
願景青年行動網協會29日（週末兩日），將舉辦『海外志工領導訓練工作坊』課程，鼓勵台灣青年積極參與海外服務工作，協助青年志工於面對跨國及跨文化下的挑戰如何執行海外服務志工計畫，培力青年志工領導者所需之國際視野與國際工作能力。
Joy Tang was invited by Taiwan Vision Youth Actions (VYA) to give a speech for its Volunteer Oversea Leadership Workshop on March 28 and 29 to train 50 members from relevant fields to boost Taiwan’s effort in cultivating ‘GLOBAL CITIZENS’ as Joy visioned.
Joy got the invitation because she was the consultant to NTHU Service and Learning Center. It was through the NTHU Overseas Volunteer Orientation for 2009 that she met the program manager for Vision Youth Action. Then they invited her to their training workshop.
National Tsing Hua University International Volunteers 2009
From March 28 to March 29 VYA – Vision Youth Actions (VYA) will conduct a overseas volunteer workshop. VYA encourages Taiwan youth to participate in the overseas service oriented in a positive and effective way. In the process, youth volunteers consider different cultural perspectives and under the Trans-Culture challenge. A major goal of the program involves cultivating the strength in youth volunteer leaders towards the international field of vision and international working ability.
Joy was invited by VYA to be a curriculum lecturer, explaining her perspective and experiences in international development. She will share with the youth volunteers the importance of developing an international/global perspective that ensures both personal success and well being, while also ensuring the kind of enlightened leadership that builds a strong future for the people of Taiwan as well as the larger world we live in.
In her speech, Joy will discuss:
- How to develop individual international view?
- Key role of international development to ensure national and global security
- How to Think Global Act Local?
The Audience will include:
- The overseas volunteer service group leading functionaries
- Overseas volunteer service group staff
- NPO/NGO international development of staff related domain
- NPO/NGO overseas volunteer planning work personnel
The objective of the program is to train 50 seed trainers involving in international volunteer work so altogether about 50 students will participate in the workshop.
We welcome the input regarding Joy’s preparation to address to the seed trainers for ‘Global Citizens’. The idea is to make the workshop participants the most inspiring contributors towards the world we all desire to live in!
協會誠摯邀請唐瑋老師擔任課程講師，講授主題『國際發展工作者的能力養成』，期待透過唐瑋老師豐富的國際參與經驗及國際發展工作背景，與青年志工分享如何拓展個人國際觀及培養自我海外服務工作能力。
